About¶
funground is creative coding for learners: a small Python library for drawing, animation and sound. It is made by Samir Joshi. AI assistants (Anthropic's Claude) wrote much of the code and the text, and the maintainer set the goals and reviewed the work. How the AI was used is written down in AI-USAGE.md.
Licence¶
- The funground library is free software under the GNU Lesser General Public Licence, version 2.1 only (LGPL-2.1-only). You may use it in any project. If you change funground itself, share those changes under the same licence. The full text is in the LICENSE file.
- The gallery examples and the guide's example code are CC0: public domain. Copy them, change them, use them for anything.
- funground's dependencies and fonts keep their own licences. They are listed in THIRD_PARTY_LICENSES.md.
Credits¶
CREDITS.md is the one page that says where things came from: what funground is built on, the sources for the sound methods, the raga and tala facts, the fonts and the ideas the examples build on.
The code¶
- funground: the library, its guide and its examples.
- funground-web: funground in the browser.
- funground-hq.github.io: this website. It is rebuilt every day from funground's documentation.
